As a key part of the programming phase for the Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology (CAET) and the Construction Education Center (CEC), the National Coalition of Advanced Technology Centers (NCATC) consulted with MCC. NCATC's primary recommendation was to establish a division for workforce development in advance of design and construction of the buildings. Interviews and workshops with key corporate stakeholders and key MCC staff were conducted. This process yielded the name, Workforce Innovation Division (WID) with the brand "IN: Innovate Now!" The vision of WID is to become the community's first choice in innovative corporate education.
CAET deploys corporate training spaces. The intent is to provide a space where companies and the community can offer short-term training on new technologies, such as introducing employees to new applications, software, industrial robots, e-commerce tools, records management systems, and more. If you were to design a game-changing training on a new technology for our organization, what would the training be like? What technology would be the focus of the training? How would the training be delivered?
